Amigurumi Polar Bear

I had my first experience with creating my own amigurumi pattern over this past week and it was a blast!  I had a special order for a polar bear, but I couldn't find a pattern that was suitable, so I decided to figure one out on my own!
I was nervous about creating something off-the-cuff, but once I found a source for a classic polar bear stance and started shaping I found it rather natural.  I love when I can completely focus on a project like this.  It's a kind of meditation for me.

This guy will be on his way to his new home soon. Fear not, I carefully recorded all my moves, so I WILL be able to make more!

Day One!

Busy day today.  Played with some color combinations that I have been wanting to try.  Crocheted a coffee sleeve or four.  Took a break to search out for a much needed ingredient for a recipe that I wanted to try and found it at an unexpected place and for very cheap.  The meal didn't turn out the way I wanted it to, though.  That's neither here nor there, however.  I also finished the "Fat" Baby that a friend of mine commissioned, which means I have to move on to the next project.  That being an amigurumi polar bear!  I could not find a suitable pattern, so this proves to be a first for me, as I will be free-handing/improvising one!
